Question Keyless entry auto-lock 01 Pathfinder help

Just bought an 01 Pathfinder last Sunday...

The keyless entry is working fine, but the 'brain' of the system doesn't
lock the doors automatically when the vehicle is started or even when
it's put in gear.

Every other car I've driven automatically locked your doors when you
put the car in gear, or when you start it (aftermarket kit I had in an
Eclipse).

Is there something I can do to make the Nissan do this also?

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure. you would have to contact your dealer or look in your manual somewhere. I know most cars this can be changed yourself. I did it in my SIlverado

this is not a nissan feature... you would have to add something to the vehicle like stated before. I have an 02 and have read the owner's manual from cover to cover. I also sold Nissans for over 2 years and know just about all the features inside and out from 00 to 02 as we were tested on our product knowledge (and our pay depended on passing the tests...)

As far as the remote programming steps go, why doesn't somebody just post them in a FAQ or something somewhere instead of having to pay for them on eBay or the dealer? On my Eclipse it's the same way-- you can pay the dealer like $50 to do it, or do it yourself in literally 2-3 minutes in your driveway, no special tools needed.

I'd be interested in this for my newly-acquired 02 Pathfinder that only came with one remote...
