Unhappy EFI swap wiring harness woes........HELP!!

The recipient: A 1984 Ford Bronco formerly powered by a 302 2bbl.
The donor: A 1993 F150 w/a 5.0 EFI

The '93 motor is now in in place of the 302 2bbl as well as a gas tank out of a '96 Bronco and the accompanying intank pump. I'm retaining the C6 trans that originally came in the '84 as opposed to swapping in the AOD since the donor truck was a 2WD therefore making that swap more difficult than I want to fool with. The donor truck was also a dual tank truck so I'm also lost as to how to properly wire the intank pump since the wiring orignally went to the tank selector switch which, needless to say I won't be using. I suppose in a perfect world someone would tell me which wires to splice together(and even include the colors)to make this all work, hey, a guy can hope can't he? I've got a Haynes manual but my knowledge of automotive electrical stuff is very limited. Pretty much anything/everything else is well within my range of capabilities but I've always stayed far far away from the electrical stuff because I just don't grasp it well. Couple that with the fact that the '84-'86 wiring diagrams in the back of the Haynes don't match what's under my hood and the confusion mounts yet further. Just before throwing in the towel today I flipped back to the '81-'83 diagrams out of curiosity and they do indeed match but it was still no help. Anyone here with knowledge of this type of thing that can point me down the right path, I'd hate to have to take it to a guy I know here local, he's the best around and you can rest assured it will be done right but he commands and gets a premium price for his work.

Thanks in advance
Mike

This type of thing it hard to explane. You will just have to eather use the fuel switch or wire it the same way the switch would.

Since you have not received any replies on this forum go over to www.ford-trucks.com and get on their forums. Many knowlagable truck people log on there and your swap has been done by people there. Good luck!

Re: EFI swap wiring harness woes........HELP!!

Go to fullsizebronco.com. Look for a guy named Ryan McCormick aka FireGuy50. I think his personal website is fordfuelinjection.com. I'm not 100% (maybe 95% ) about this but if you want to keep your C6, you'll need an ECU from a 1993 F150 that came with a manual trans. This will fool the engines computer into thinking the trans is a manual and it won't go berzerk (trouble codes, not running right, etc) on ya. Carparts.com have these ECUs for sale. Good Luck!

If it is indeed an AOD then the ECU should not be a problem. AOD's do not have any computer controls and have been used since the early 80's. Where you run into problems is if it is an EAOD or E4OD with the "E" meaning it has electronic functions.
