Re: 300zx na vs 3000gt sl

this is a driver's race. but come on, the sl is fwd and the z is rwd (sorry, i have to mention that because i found out a few weeks ago the 3000gt sl is fwd and i laugh at it even more)

Re: 300zx na vs 3000gt sl

I really don't know that much about the 3KGT or the any other 3K models. But what about this? A Z32TT vs. 3KVR-4 or what ever that highend car is called.

Re: 300zx na vs 3000gt sl

I assume this thread is referring to the Z32.

300ZXTT Vs. VR-4...300 wins...the VR-4 is too heavy (and that's amazing considering the Z32TT weighs a LOT, too). I have a link to a magazine comparo of these exact 2 cars.

As for the N/A vs SL...I don't know...probably the Z because I think it's lighter...the 3000 just seems like such a heavy car to me, regardless of trim. I could dig up stats, but I have to go to work soon.

Re: 300zx na vs 3000gt sl

a VR-4 vs a Z32TT depends on what kind of a race. the vr-4 can win 1/4 mile but the Z will kill it in top end

everyone says that the NA Z32 vs a 3000GT SL is a drivers race... but the SL is FWD

Re: 300zx na vs 3000gt sl

Yes.... I would have to agree... The Z would massacare that FWD pile! Much respect to the VR4 however! They can be monsters!

Coincidently, I'm trying to get a co-worker with a Dodge Stealth to race me. So you guys may be getting some evidence that the Z would win!

Re: 300zx na vs 3000gt sl

I read a comparison that a magazine did between a TT and a VR-4 and the TT won in everything.

That's good to know. But what if the driver of the VR-4 sucks? hehe.

I think its a drivers race and who can get out of the hole fastest, it could go either way. But i would tend to say the 300zx would have the advantage of rwd. Ive looked at stats and they really dont help much they say a 300zx does a 0-60 time in 7-7.5 secs......bullshit....ive done 6.7 and they say a 3kgt does it in 8 secs.....its faster than that....at least i hope! Does any one else have some of thier 0-60 times they would like to share?

i go to school with a kid that drives a 300gt non turbo, and i raced him in my nonturbo z31. needless to say he won, but it was pretty close. over the corse of 3 or 4 blocks he beat me be just over a carlength. with that said, the z32 would massacre the sl, from start to finish.
