Unhappy Huge Accident

I just got into a huge car accident with my 2000 civic ex. damn suv made me swerved and my car got outta control and hit the left guardrail then spun a few times then hit the right guardrail and spun again then finally stopped sideway in the middle of a two lane highway. The shitty thing is that my airbags did not pop. what yall think i should do with that? should i get a lawyer and contact Honda? My car now have a salvage title. Should I then buy the salvage car and strip the parts or try to sell the car. Which way will I benefit the most? What kinda car should I get next? I'm thinking about getting an SI. Any suggestions?

It really depends on how hard the front impacted anything. I ran into someones ass because they pulled out in front of me and my airbags didnt deploy. Wasnt the WORST damage... just bent/cracked bumper, bent hood, pushed-back right fender and broken right corner light bracket... I got $2000 from insurance and I only paid $795 to fix :-) If you are injured because the airbags didnt deploy, then maybe contact a lawyer. Other than that, dont think you could do much.

No, you can't go after honda for your air bugs not deploying, and you also can't sue taco bell for your crooked neck syndrom. What should you do with your car? It's up to you. What should you buy next? It's up to you. Enjoy

I agree with the previous poster that said you probably can't sue anyone if you weren't injured. I think that means they work fine, you don't want them going off when you don't need them.

as for next car. I drive an '02 si and I havne't regretted the purchase at all. At first I didn't care for the looks, I bought it for the interior and because they gave me the same price as an EX, and it was more fun to drive. but even the looks grew on me and i love it now.

Re: Huge Accident

hmm, the si, i used to think looked big and ugly, but now i look at it with openned arms and stuff, but the whole shifter in the frotn dash is kind of weird, i guess i would have to drive one to understand it

Re: Huge Accident

Airbags are not there to prevent you from getting injured, so you can not sue the car company. The primary purpose of Airbags are to save you from a fatal accident. However, airbags also have a disclaimer, that it is not guaranteed to save u. So even if you die from a car crash and the airbag was released, nobody can sue Honda from it.

Airbags are deployed differently. Some airbags are deployed based on the rate of deceleration your car is facing. Like from 60 to 0 in a fraction of a second or less etc... Other methods that the airbag can deploy is based on the front bumper crashing in, and it deploys the bags.
