Automatic antenna? SRS light? New headlight?
Ok I bought a 95 Del Sol S a couple of weeks ago and just have a few questions.
First of all, is the antenna on my model supposed to be electric? I was told that it is, but there isn't a fuse listed for it. I know that usually they're connected to the radio, and I have an aftermarket one so figuring my car either doesn't have that antenna or whoever put in the cd player didn't connect it to the antenna. Next, the SRS light is always on. The car has been in an accident with the last owner just making sure the light is supposed to be on. Not sure whether the light is telling me that SRS is ready, or if it's saying that the airbags have been deployed. It's one of those things I'd like to know before it's too late. Last, the plastic piece on the passenger side turning light that holds it to the car was broke, and when I was driving the light fell off. Just curious what would be the best route to take to get it replaced. Thanks in advance

Re: Automatic antenna? SRS light? New headlight?
not sure if it is supposed to be electric or not, but at the back of your radio, there should be a blue wire. If it is connected to the wire from your antenna (asuming you have an electric) Then it should work. You can pull back the carpet in your trunk to see if there is an electric motor for your antenna. The SRS light should not be on. Since the car was in a wreck, the repair shop either didn't replace the airbag (illegal), or they did and didn't have a scan tool to reset the light. Tkae it to the Honda dealership and they can hook up a PGM tester and tell you all about it. For the light, you can get that at the dealership too, or go to a junk yard.

Re: Automatic antenna? SRS light? New headlight?
I agree with Privatebigandrew. The SRS light only comes on briefly when you start the car during diagnostics and then will turn off after a second or two.
You can either get a new corner light from Honda or check junkyards for one. Pretty easy to come by. Regarding your antenna, Del Sol radio antenna's normally didn't come electric. They're all unpowered, however, Honda did make a power antenna for the Del Sol that was optional. You should still be able to get one at your Honda dealership. Last I heard they were like $60 or something like that.

Re: Automatic antenna? SRS light? New headlight?
$60!!.....I called my local dealership and they wanted $86 for an unpowered antenna!!!....maybe they thought i was talking about the powered one. If you want a new antenna for any reason...i got mine off of ebay (nonelectric). One of the only good experiances i've had with ebay actually. but the antenna is black instead of chrome like the stock one. Fits nice too.

Re: Automatic antenna? SRS light? New headlight?
Actually, I think the price is more like $130 for the powered antenna from Honda. Been a while since I looked into it so I checked on it at Team Sol and I think that's a more accurate current price.

Look Josh get on ebay and get a set of clears for like $35.
Take your Del Sol to Honda off of Bob Wallace. And your antenna is just like mine I told you that!

Re: Automatic antenna? SRS light? New headlight?
OK first..Clear corners next to OE lamps on a del sol looks RETARTED !! you have a crystal clear lamp next to a simi-clear textured lamp !! RICE anyone ? Get a new side marker and just knock the amber inserts out fo yours and presto..clears that match your lamps PERFECTLY and with a OE look..... get your lamp and or new antenna from a dealer... Mechanicsville Honda is a dealership that offers wholesale prices to the public... 1-800-559-4101 and ask for Jared or Chris ..and tell them you want the "69A magazine add" discount and you will get a far better price than if you just walked into another dealership..they ship nationwide for about 10 bucks ... go to www.car-part.com or www.importautosalvage.com to check for used ...and more than likely you have a manual pull-type antenna ...looks like a power but its not
