Mazda(starion/conquest)2600i TURBO???

Has anyone ever attempted this or seen one done? It is the same truck as the dodge d50. I have found very little info about putting a turbo on this vehicle. From what i gather is is the same engine minus the turbo....but the head on my truck has 12valves and the exhaust ports are on the driver side unlike the starion/conquest. i think the starion is a 8 valve head. Will the turbo exhaust bolt up to my head??? Any info on these cars/trucks or links would be very helpful.

It is possible that the Mitsu D50 and Mazda 2600 share the same block -- Mitsu 4 cyl 2555cc or 2.6L
-- Mazda 4 cyl 2606cc or 2.6L
Both are SOHC.

However, take a closer look at the head.
-- Mitsu Exhaust manifold on passenger's side
-- Mazda Exhaust manifold on driver's side
The intake/exhaust manifolds are reversed.

You would want to use the Starion block anyhow -- hardened crank, stainless steel exhaust valve, and oil squirters for cooling underneath the pistons.

If the Mazda 2600 and Mitsu D50 share the same engine mounts and bolt up to the same transmission, this would definitely be something I'd like to see done.
