calculating gains from F/I

Is there a way to calculate the gains you might get from any F/I application. I'm talking about say taking the boost pressure you're gonna put on it and then saying you'll get about X% gain.

Re: calculating gains from F/I

It completely depends on how the intake was setup before.

It depends on the intake setup you have. Intercooled v/s non makes a world of difference.

It also depends on head porting. If your runners are the size of a drinking straw, then no amount of intake or exhaust for that matter is going to make much/any difference if the engine can't move the air through the runners.

You also must factor turbo size, engine displacement,

So to answer your question no. You must factor the entire engine into the equation. Wanna start throwing details in?

Re: calculating gains from F/I

If you double the intake pressure with a turbocharger a rough estimation is that you double the power.

With a supercharger it will be a little more difficult, you must estimate how much the increased pressure difference over the engine affects VE and then remove the superchargers power consumption.
