Injector Sizes?

I've spent approx. a week researching this question.
Read several forums, called Honda's 800 #, called local dealership
and spoke to a parts guy as well as service dept. DId many searches and I still can't get a straight answer.

Now the question:

Can someone tell me / Does someone know the
injector sizes on a D16Y7 as well as D16Y8?

DOn't forward me to another site cuz I've probably been there.

I have a thread going elsewhere with the same question.
There seems to be 2 answers... I want the right one.

Some say Y7 & Y8 have the same size injector 2400cc
Others says Y7 = 190cc & Y8 = 240cc

Accell says on some lit that it Y7 = 180cc & Y8 = 235cc

TurboMagazine.com says 2400cc Y7 & Y8...

So As you can see we have printed publications that contradict one another, Any insight from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Injector Sizes?

Are you a tech for honda? I called Honda USA and they didn't have the answer. I called a few local dealerships parts dept and they didn't have the answer. I've been to honda-tech.com and di a search and could not find the answer. That's why I'm asking. So yes I'd like it confirmed and explain why it's listed as 190cc and 240cc?
Someone on SOHCHonda.com wrote the DX was 190 as well as the HX... I own a DX w/ D16Y7...
I was going to upgrade my IM to a D16Y8 but wante to know if I should get the injectors from the same engine cuz if I have 190cc injectors then lemme go for the 240cc injector upgrade. Thanks for your input.

Re: Injector Sizes?

Anybody else have some input?
Accel & AEM are saying 190cc for the Y7 & 240cc for Y8. Other "people" are saying 240cc for both Y7 & Y8...

i am a 3rd yr aprentice yes. those 190cc sound about right, like i mentioned i knew the other models might have a lower flow but wasnt positive on flow amount. i would go with those 190cc numbers. as for your manifold swap, you could run either injectors. of course larger would be nicer if you plan to upgrade stuff but if all you are doing is swapping the manifold and tahts it, it would really make much of a difference.

I looked through my Helms manual, and from what I could find, it doesn't list any specs on the injector rates for D16Yx motors. I would say go with info from Accel and AEM though, they both do extensive engine mor work, and being a manufacture of aftermarket injectors, I'd deem it safe that they have their numbers correct.
