Recommendations?

Anyone know anything about how good or badthis intercooler performs? It looks kinda small for an intercooler. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm just wondering. It better work well considering how much it friggin costs. Anyone do a custom job on a Z31? I know that's usually (a hell of a lot) cheaper, but I know it can also be a huge pain in the ass.

Also, anyone have any recommendations for a boost controller and/or boost guage? I'd like a Greddy ProfecB cuz it's controllable from inside the car unlike a manual controller, and it doesn't...like...give lunar patterns and driving directions and 0-60 times and all that crap...it's a boost controller for God's sake. All I want is one that's simple, cheap-ish, and controllable from inside the car.

I'm going to look at an 86T tomorrow and I'm probably going to pick it up. Just getting an idea of some specifics of what I wanna buy for it.

Thanks, guys.

Re: Recommendations?

Ehh.....The turbo FAQ on Z31.com says the HKS mufflers are the quietest....quiet and non-ricy = gooooood. It doesn't specify WHICH HKS muffler, though...they have a shit load of different ones. There are tons on ebay for $25. If you don't believe me, check it out.

http://search.ebay.com/hks-muffler_P...sortpropertyZ3

I thought I was reading it wrong...that seems waaaaaaaay too cheap. Either I'm reading it wrong or they're shitty.

Also...as far as what fits and what doesn't.....how does that work? Kinda...anything goes?

Anyone have any experience with mufflers and the like?

Re: Recommendations?

Re: Recommendations?

Loud? It's an intercooler...how is it loud?

I like the Profec, but they're kinda expensive. Is there a manual controller (eg cheaper) that can be controlled from inside the car?

I meant the ebay mufflers you posted a link to are loud, not the intercooler.

congratulations on the new Z31

~120,000. Runs like a tank, too. The thread, "Finally!!!", has a couple more pics.
