Hi,
I have a 93 suburban that has 145k on it. The last few years I've noticed that whenever I hit a bump in the road the driver's side door clunks and sounds like it's going to fall off. But, if you open the door and examine it, there isn't much vertical play in the hinges and nothing seems to be loose. Any thoughts? Thanks |

you can: A: make sure the striker is tight and adjust in "in" a little. (too far will cause the door to be misaligned, and appear "sunken" beyond the body lines....) B: if that works, then invest in a new weather stripping lit. they're available from GM, ($$$) or through JC Whitney. i'm sure other places carry them too..... maybe even Autozone........... also.... open your door and grab the end that holds the latch. lift up and down. you may have worn hinges. that'll cause the door to knock and bang too...... usually, the door will "drop" when you open it if the hinges are worn, and will be a little difficult closing as well.......

your door...
The other guy had some good ideas. I noticed on mine the insides of the door were lose (window, locks, etc.). You might try tightening everything up and hopefully that will help.
