doesn't look photoshopped at all to me? if anything the camera view is just cutting off the other ducklings that decided to not cross and then the mother turned around to look at them. the fact that the camera man zoomed in and cut out half the scene that was originally there gives the illusion that all but one of the babies fell in.

PS that is not yellow shadowing... thats what baby ducks look like. they are a little fluffy and its usually yellow. as they age the fluff gets replaced with brown feathers.

edit: actually dukegirl has a point... maybe they did take the plunge? there goes my theory.

Re: Sad picture

whoever pointed it out is right. there is no reflection of the duck in the chrome bumper in picture two. the ducks didn't fall in, they were never there.

Looks like most of us need to pay more attention next time a photo like this comes up. With that said we got

Re: Sad picture

I have a friend who does a lot of photoshopping. He's quick to point out that it is often things that aren't there that give a picture away. so instead of looking for pixelation (which can be hidden if you're excellent at PS[I'm not]) I look for a missing shadow, or in this case, a missing reflection.

I noticed it on my own, yeah, but don't forget someone else pointed it out before I even opened this thread.

Re: Sad picture

About the reflection, you'll notice that the "grate" is actually 2 grates side by side. The relection in the bumper is showing the grate to our left, whereas the ducks are on the right hand grate. You can see the edge of it the photo (please remember this is a reflection and would appear backwards) also, the edge of the right hand grate has grass clippings on it, which isn't seen on the relection.

As to the remaining duckling looking bigger in the last photo? Well so does the mother, they're closer to the camera

The picture doesn't look photoshopped to me (but I'm certainly no expert) but that doesn't mean it wasn't set up like Knorwj mentioned.

No doubt that all the babies are safe and sound, since anyone taking pictures of cute, fuzzy little ducks in the first place would probly spend the time trying to get them out if they did, indeed, fall in the gutter.
