Which car to buy.... hmmm?

Alright I have a couple cars I'm looking at and need some advice from other modifiers.

There is this racer (sounds like a ricer, but don't know to much about him) and he takes engines and puts them in Civic hatchbacks and such. A buddy of mine got a gsr engine in his and it messed up 2 months later. I don't know if it was this guy faults or my friends shifting abilities. Anywase he has a 95 civic hatchback that has a crack in the bumper, some rust holes, and he wants 3500 for it. I offered him 2800, comment on this please and what I should do.

Another guy called me and he has a 91 civic hatchback and he wants only 2000 for that. I haven't checked it out yet so I dunno much about it.

I really want a 92-95 cuz of the style, but I don't feel confident about this racer and his cars.. any suggestions?

If you don't feel comfortable buying a car from this guy, then don't. I'm sure there are plenty of 92-95 Civics out there in your price range without rust and cracked bumpers...
