engine code?

I have a 97 jetta trek with the 2.0 engine and auto trans. I have a check light on and when I got it checked it gave me this code P1582. Please tell me what this is and how to fix it. Also I My alarm is going crazy. Every time I start the car the alarm sets so I have to row down the window and turn it off. Two windows also don't work. This has all started in the past week and I am trying to sell the car. Thanks for your help.

you will have to check into the electical?? i have 1 97 jetta gt... i have several mods.. the 1582 can be SO many things. when that light popped up on my car, first thing the mitchell says is to change the oil.. that is what solved my problem!! if that doesnt work you need to look into the Tb and its componets.. when i had that code, i reset it first and it came back on in 50 miles!!.. i then changed the oil and reset the light and it hasnt came back on

Your Idle control valve may be on it's way out.
The computer has reached it's limit in it's
ability to compensate.

P1582 = Idle adaptation at limit
