Engine light Blinks

I have a 89 Buick Centry 3.3,I had a exhaust leak from the manifold pipe to the converter and had it fixed, now the light is coming on and we can smell an odor and hear rattling like the converter is gone, sounds like tiny bearings rattling around. The light blinks them comes on and then goes off,can anyone help me,can i fix this myself,i see some post, what mechanics charge. What do i need. Thanks Dave

First go to my two postings for the "85 Buick Century with Rattle and Service Engine Light" (Right on top of the forum a couple of heading away fromt this post.

Go to this website: http://www.geocities.com/dann8785/se...nginesoon.html and figure out what code your engine is telling you needs attention. It's very easy to bend a paperclip and get a code from your car (exposed underneath the steering wheel or center console).

It may be the same problem you had before, or it may be something similar to mine.

All my best.
