Unhappy 91 cutlass super stalling

91 cutlass runs very rough at idle, almost stalls. When any amount of fuel is added engine stalls. Just before this happened, vehicle ran fine. Wonld not start one day. Jump started and charged battery, ran for a short time stalled and has not been the same since. Any ideas?

Re: 91 cutlass super stalling

Do you hear a hissing noise? It might have a vacuum leak.

Failing IAC (Intake Air Control solenoid) will give you IDLE problems. IAC is located on the throttle body. You can try to remove it and clean it good with a throttle body cleaner and clean the spot where it goes to the throttle body. Test it and see if it makes a difference.

update

I found that the engin will not hold a vacume. I am told that a intake gasket may be the cause. What do you think?
