the sun is yellow... no, I'm not being an ass, stars have classifications by brightness, red being low, blue being high, and the sun is a yellow.

It's yellow. Joseph is right. Yellow is a medium temperature for stars. Also, red stars tend to be much larger and have a shorter life then blue stars.
