impala radio

i have a 2001 impala ls and now whenever i put a cd in it says check disc and it takes forever for the cd to come out it doesnt even play what should i do??

are you trying different cd's?

Your cd could be scratched, and that's the problem.

It's either that, or your lens.

I had the same problem. I tried cleaning it but that didn't help, so I just ordered an Alpine. It has MUCH better sound, and preamps for my subs.

How did yo umake an after market fit didnt you have to take the whole dash apart?

Yes, however it's not very difficult. I ordered the head unit from crutchfield, they included a guide on how to remove the dash, and a kit to cover the rest of the whole left by removing the larger unit. The install only took about an hour and a half.
