I got a ticket for not having a front license plate on my car (Colorado). i wasnt even in it when i got the ticket... it was parked in front of my parents house on the street - just mindin its own business. i even drove around with the ticket still under the wiper before i noticed it... $30 fine! how gay.

i'm wondering if i should pay it or not. they have no proof i even received it.



so what do we know:

Denver PD = gay
Boulder PD = gay (gave me a parking ticket for having my TRUNK ("from back wheels back") beyond the "No Parking -->" sign.

Now, just so you don't think I'm being an asshole, my wife got a ticket for no front plate as well (and she had been bugging me to reinstall it - the G is her car). Now, it was annoying, but I knew the game I was playing and got hit for a penalty.

Just accept it. If you're going to play the game and try to get around some rules, sometimes you get caught.

I'll grant you it's annoying.

I personally hate cops and like them at the same time . They would save your life it came down to it. But I have the same problem you do with the law. Getting a ticket for not having a front plate is ludicrous . It shouldn't be a law b/c some cars don't even come with one. For example, new Vettes don't have em, I see alot of Benz's with no plate and do you think they get f*cked with. NO. People shouldn't be ticketed for this stupid sh*t b/c basically it comes down to preference and how big of a dickhead the cop is. I am with you 100%. I'll smoke one for you dawg :smoka: , b/c I got like 2 of those in a month.

If you're really not willing to pay $30 - then you could simply show up in court and fight the charge. If the Officer that issued you the ticket does not show up in court, they will simply waive the fine and you will be on your way. It just depends on whether or not you're willing to go above and beyond the call of duty .

You need to go above the call of duty and get some pics of your dropped ride. I saw some pics b4, but yours is dropped now so wassupp. Don't ask me to b/c I have no digital camera or scanner.

What are the rules that the law say about front plates?
Is it different in every state?
If the law says you need one on the front you should have one...end of story.
I'd ckeck to see if you are meant to have one or not. If it says you do, then you haven't got much of a case.
If you dont need one...then fight the system against your ticket.


Over here all cars must have a front plate. On same cars that are imported (USA) it looks stupid, so i can see how you guys dont want them.

Are these the same cops who investigated the Jon Benet Ramsey case? If your lucky the cop will show in court late because it only took him two tries to figure out which foot to put his shoe on.

you have now come to the realization of many of us. the cops around here are assholes. i didn't get a ticket for not having my front plate on when i got pulled over. do you have NY plates or CO plates. what are the laws in ny if you have those? parking police are the lowest form of the law. at least regular cops save lives and protect the innocent. all meter maids and parking cops do is...well nothing.

but...george is right. we play the game by not having our front plates on, and we run the risk of getting a ticket. i don't like it, but that's the way it is.

as for the having your trunk past the sign, that's just boulder, but you should know better. i know it sucks parking up there, but you know they're out and you know they're bitches so why risk it (not on a soapbox, i've gotten my share of parking tickets-until i learned my lesson).
