Unhappy Failed Smog Test

Well... I just failed the smog test today... What can negatively affect smog checks? The car is completely stock. Its a 1994 EX. I don't know what to do. I don't wanna give this car up and want to fix it before my parents find out...

Ok, first, what did it fail in? Hydrocarbons, CO2, etc... and it's not giving you a error code, is it?

But some basic things that help are letting the car get to its normal temp before testing it, and making sure you have decent gas in it (like you didn't put that half a gallon of 2-stroke gas left over in your car's tank then try to get it to pass)

Some other basic things are the spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor. If that doesn't work, try an O2 sensor, your car is 10 years old, and it might be time for a new one, but try the spark plugs and stuff first as it is easier and cheaper.

With those numbers, check the plugs, and those smaller things I said, because you're close, and those may get you that small number you need. Be sure you keep your reciept for the stuff becuase they will want to see it.

I tried changing the O2 sensor myself and trying to get it off was a real big BITCH!!! I ended up grinding some of the edges of the nut. I still haven't got it off. I tried spraying on some WD-40 and that wasn't much of a help. Got it a little warm but I don't think it's warm enough. I think I damaged the OEM O2 sensor cause the car won't start. Someone please help me!!!

I was so pissed off so I tried gripping the O2 sensor and turning it cause it wouldn't turn. I grabbed on to the part where you're not supposed to grab but I did it anyway. I tried starting the car and it wouldn't start. Ever since I messed with that O2 sensor, the car wouldn't start. I tried it with the new one and hooked it up so that it was sensing the outside air, but still no start. Did I mess it up by starting it with the O2 sensor damaged?
