It can be done for less......Just shop around....I have seen the 5 speeds sell for about a grand. The pedals and ecu will be needed as well as new axles...maybe a mount.....flywheel and starter...and an afternoon of nothing more important to do.

its all about the custom mounts... thats we been doing... but i heard that someone makes em.... just havent found em yet

the shop said they can get everthing in and installed for $8000... plus they said they could probably find someone to buy my D17 for around $1000-$1500

that is a good price for your engine i was told around a grand for mine too and i got like no miles at all on it..you gonna go for it? i am still debating what to do but april is D-DAY for my car so i got a few months to think -
- my boy just got a job in over in japan teaching english to kids - so i told him to mail me an engine lol
