'94 LT! 9C1 sitll stalling out, even after fuel pump repl.
OK guys, I am frustrated and any help will be appreciated. Here's the history: '94 LT1 9C1, 5.7 cop car. While driving, the drivetrain will shut down for a few seconds, but motor still running. Occasional backfire. Come to a stop, and will stall sometimes. Starts right back up. Tranny in good shape. Last Opti/plugs/wire change was about 8000 miles ago. Water pump still in good shape.
Been told it could be a tranny temp sensor (doesn't make sense but what do I know?), or an ignition problem. GM dealer scanned it and got no codes whatsoever, kinda amazing on a 10 year old car with 118K on it. Took in on Friday to have a mech. check it out. Called me back and said the fuel pump is bad, only 26 psi. Replaced that and fuel filter and supposedly drove it for 10 miles with no prolbems. Keep in mind my problem has been intermittent. Picked it up and same damn thing keeps happening, less than a mile from the dealership. Was told by one of the techs (not a mechanic) that it might be a crank pos. sensor, which kinda makes sense, but they didn't touch it. What is going on here? Going back to dealership on Monday to have them try and fix their f**up, but curious if they don't know what they are doing?? Could it be I got a bad fuel pump??
I love my car and gonna drive it about 2000 miles in a few weeks, so I need this thing working before then. Thanks for any help guys.
