VTEC swap

Im a nissan guy so i dont know every bit of info on honda motors, just the basics. can you just swap a non vtec head, and make it vtec? or what all do you need? and if theres too much to do, just tell me itd be more efficient to just swap motors. thanks

You can, but depending on which series it is will determine how much work is needed.

You will make more power swapping a motor, but it cost more.

they are vtec already .the ex is 1.6 sohc vtec

DOHC's are easier to make go faster than SOHC's I believe, though.

Stock, DOHC vtec engines have anywhere from 35-75 more horsepower than SOHC vtec engines (depending on which engine of course).

Civic EX (sohc)- 125hp
Civic Si (dohc)- 160hp
Prelude (dohc)- 200hp
