computer problems

so i put a hypertech thermomaster computer chip into my 91 caprice and from the start ive had loopy idle 600-1000 at times ive adjusted the idle on the tbi that helped but, does anyone have any ideas?? i might throw a carb on there is that worth the money, or is a 2" 670cfm tbi worth the money, from holley. ??? ive dumped quit a bit into the car and its quite a sleeper even tho its loud....tooo tired to list everything. the car is into the mid 14 range for the 1/4 itll be into the mid 13's by next month and into the 12's by august. but the computer is killin me. need help it could be a vacum leak at the base of the tbi the intake manifold is the only thing that made it trhru the engine change and the tbi never left its seat but idk. ran fine with the 5.0 computer running the 350. i spent 400$ on computer work including chip and it ran like crap since i started it with the new chip whhich was a total changeover to the 350 computer managment system. im runnin either 14-16 degree advance timing (the marks stop at 12)which i set myself i seemed to gain noticable horsepower when i set that, and for the ppl that will tell me that ill get detonation iim running a 160 degree thermostat so that reduces the risk, i set it so high so i could get a hard throttle feel and instant pop power up to 5,500, but on a hot summer day after a while the engine begins to bog, which could be the hot runnin 93. so any ideas about the loopy idle and the bogging, would be much appreciated and some views on my choice to set the timing so far (the chip brings it foward at least 8-10 degrees so its acutally set at maybe 4 or 8 with no computer) what maybe would be a better timing set that i could try unless what i brought it too is fine......sry for the detail gotta make sure everythin is said. k..done
