Question cv axle noise

I got a 94" civic hatchback cx with a d16z6 (si engine and transmission) and I got a knocking sound when I turn left (just a little bit) and accelerating.
I try two rebuilt cv shaft from Fenco and one Brand new and I still hear the knocking.
Is the cv axle the same for a CX and a SI , the company told me yes.
Is that possible if that noise is coming from another part?

Re: cv axle noise

If you have replaced the cv then I wouldnt think it could be that. I just replaced the whole axle this weekend for my CV being bad. took me 4 hours with tools.

If your still geting the noise and its been replaced I would think that it has to be another part.
IF you just replaced the boot it could be that the CV joint is actualy damaged and needs replacement.

I drop my car about 3 inch 3 month ago and I was hearing the noise before but now it's more noisy.
On the highway when I go straith and accelerating I hear the noise
and when I turn left the noise is worst.
Before I drop my car I was hearing the noise only when I turn left and accelerating, but now when I go straith I hear it.

Re: cv axle noise

pull back on the rubber things on the joints and check if theres grease, if the joint is greased up good and check for damage

Re: cv axle noise

Did you take out the ring off the outter joint? If you got the motor from a Si it probably had ABS, and there is a plastic ring on the outside of the axles, this causes it not to sit right in the CX (which didn't have ABS) knuckle.

4hrs? what were you doing? it takes me 20mins to remove and install a new axle. either way....
i think jcrx is onto something there, also it could be bearing noise.
