86 silverado carburator problem!! need help!

I have a 1986 chevy silverado truck and it has a holly carburator in it. it starts fine and it idles good in park...when i change to reverse or drive if i dont push the gas immediatly it will either die or put put till it does. if i actully get onto the road..it does fine while im driving but when i stop at a stop sign or a red light it will die. after it dies i have to wait a second for it to start again, when i try to start it, it just dosent turn over and i have to hold my foot on the gas for it to start..i know im not flooding it. everynow and then i will feel a pop or it makes a popping sound right under the gas pedel...it used to do it alot now it dosent do it much anymore. but now it just dies on me. can somone please please tell me any info. i have already tried to raise the idle...i raised it quite a bit but its not helping..any info is a great help.

Dude, With out even going in to a long blo blo,,,, .
It's the power valve ,go to your parts dealer and have the model number and part number of the carb w/you.
then look in to the new carbs they have power valves that do not blow out, this can be had at schuck's here in Seattle.
If it back fired your stuck, or you got it side wayes ,,,,your stuck.
Accell makes a nice mod for your truck it has 4 injectors and is coputer driven and you can dial it in with a pc and hard ware. check ,,,,,,,,,,www.Jegs.com this is wheir i go for my stuff.

no it runs excellent. lol..just a pain in my ass
