Unhappy 95 Grand Am Gt won't throttle up

I just replaced the intake gasket because of water in the oil. I bought this car at the auction. I never heard it run. I can start it up but cannot throttle it up. It acts like it runs out of gas. I replaced the pump. Any suggestions? Thanks.

sounds like something fuel or spark related. make sure your getting fuel to the injectors, and that the injectors themselves are working. Also check your spark plugs and ignition coils

I was told there may be air in the fuel system. I believe it has had time to bleed off. The lifters are also still noisy and haven't pumped up again since having it apart.

I replaced entire upper intake from running engine. I still think the lifters haven't had time to pump up. I'll work on it some more.
