z24 hesitating after punching out motor

my 91 z24 spits and sputters around 3000rpms if I hit the gas hard. If I ease the throttle down it works fine. I just had it the engine punched out .040 over. It idles fine and everything. just doesn't go unless I slowly ease the gas down. Any idea's

just a possibility, but maybe since the displacement is larger, there is not enough fuel pressure build up to be able to adjust to the increased air in the cylinders and when you hit the gas hard. only a thought though

I am sorry I'am getting a knock count in the engine. I replaced pretty much everything including the knock sensor. It happens two ways, the first is in park with no load on engine to floor it and it happens if you push the gas down slowly it doesn't. Second if your in drive it does it all the time. See if that helps ya
