HELP!! no power to Starter?

HI,
This is my first time here. Wondering if somebody can help me out? I have a 92 with a 2.2 multiport FI. I took the head off and put another one on. Easy job right? I have done this on a couple of others and had no problems. On this car I got it all back together and then went to start it, Turn the key and nothing? all the lights work and everything looks good? I took the starter out and tested it and it is OK? I also replace the nutural safety switch and that didn't do anything? So what could it be?? It should start but it dosn't??
Thanks for any help!!
Bob

check for a disonnected sensor or electrical connection that you may have missed durring re-installation. a disconnected sensor could render the ecu of a miltiport useless

Re: HELP!! no power to Starter?

Make sure you put the ignition switch wire on the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid. I made this mistake when I replaced my starter.
If you have two small terminals on your solenoid (on the starter), one is the "S" terminal-the one ya want, and the other one is a cutout switch for a ballast resistor to lessen the load on the starter when cranking. If you connect to this terminal-nothing atall will happen when ya turn the key.
Switch it over one and see what happens. It's a stupidly easy mistake to make, 'cause I sure didn't think of it and they look the same when the starte's all mounted up.

Re: HELP!! no power to Starter?

The fuuny thing is that I never disconected the starter? All I did was take the head off and the coneections to the intake manifold and the air flow sensor. So really this whole thing makes no sense? I just replaced the safty switch and I still have nothing? I check the wires and they all seem OK??? Now I am back into the ignition switch but that seems to check out OK to?
Thanks tfor any IDEA'S
Bob

im not exactly sure that the year of car you have is equiped withthis, but it is very easy to damage the crankshaft position sensor or the camshaft position sensor whan changing a head. have you ran a computer diagnosics to check for this or any other sensor problem. also keep in mind that this problem could be a separate problem not even concerning your recent head swap. it is usually the simples things. check them all and dont overlook anything. e.g. >>> fuzes, relays, wiring harness, battery, etc. i have a chevy metro that had a check engine light that was caused simply by the fuel cap not being tight enough.
