Question dashboard lights & gauges

Just purchased a 1986 BMW 325 when i turn on the lights only the left side of the panel lights up and the gauges work but on thre right hand side RPM , water tempature and usage per gallon gauges don't work and will not light up but every thing else does any ideas were to start.
Thanks in advance.

Re: dashboard lights & gauges

check the fuses 1st, can't tell you which numbers today......the most likely cause though since the twmp. gauge is also out is the S.I. board in the bottom of the cluster.........the tach[&mpg] and temp info go through it to the gauges, fuel and speedo do not [the speedo sends a seperate signal to the rest of the car........happy hunting.
