Grill On Grand National - 1987
I have a 1987 Grand National.
The grill does not set right. If you push on it, it moves about 1 or 2 inches back. I must be missing some part that holds the grill stationery. Am I? ps.....I saw "grill springs" on ebay for $15. Too much. If this is what i am missing, how long are these springs so I can try to get them at a hardware/auto parts store. |

Re: Grill On Grand National - 1987
When I hit a deer with my 86 GN I replaced the grill with an 87GN grill (86 has crome strip on top 87 does not). I got some 3 or 4" long light springs of differant tension from my local hardware store and they worked fine. Don't use to strong of a spring or it will crack the plastic, to weak of a spring and the grill sags. The local bone yard might have the right ones from a regular Regal, the grill mounts the same way.

The HELP! section at Advance Auto has plenty of throttle return springs that will substitute as well.

Re: Grill On Grand National - 1987
i had the same problem and thought the same thing. i used hardware store springs and m very happy with them. the length of the spring isnt as important as the thickness (strength/resistance) as you can cut them to length.
