Angry Decals

My parents just bought this beautiful 1998 Honda GLE from this old Italian guy. However, the guy put his initials on EVERYTHING! Aside from the initials carved into every key, which I can live with, he frickin has his INITIALS IN STICKERS ON THE DOORS RIGHT BELOW THE WINDOWS!!!!! I couldn't believe it when my mother showed it to me. I was like...you've got to be kidding me, there's no way I'm driving a car that has "~L.P.~" in black script on the doors. He has bumper stickers all over it too, but I know I can get those off pretty easy because they're all on glass. But, I'm kind of at a loss for the "~L.P.~". Any suggestions on how to get this off without damaging the paint?

Re: Decals

If its a sticker, use WD-40.Start peeling a little with your nail, then spray some in.Wait for it to set a few seconds, then peel back really slowly while spraying some every now and then. When your done, simply wipe off with a damp towel.Followed by a dry one.

I looked a bit closer- it's like the material that racing stripes are made out of. Does this still apply?

Re: Decals

WD-40 will still apply to that. But ive read posts from other places and they claim that after removal,a small film is left behind.Alcohol will get this out.Or anything that has alcohol.(Beer, hair spray etc.)

Re: Decals

isopropal will burn ur clear coat if u r not carefule, and same with wd40. your best bet is to get a heat gun, or a hair dryer if need be. use small ammounts of heat n lightly very lughtly peal off the sticker. after the sticker is off you mite have some glue markes or lines left. get a light staged compound and put that over the glue marks, let it sit for a few seconds then rub off, and teh glue will come off

Heat guns good but if you can round up one of those clothes steamers that remove wrinkles in clothing via steam they work excellent and usually don't leave any glue residue behind.
