Radio Code Please Help
My 1997 Jetta GT battery went dead, no big deal except for now the radio won't work and I don't have the code.
I called a couple dealers and they said $55 please. They have to take out the radio etc etc. Well I have the radio out. How do I get the code? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Radio Code Please Help
Just bring the radio to the dealer & they will look it up - they should not charge for that. Sometimes you can find the four digit code number on a sticker on the side of the spare tire well (pre-delivery mechanics were supposed to take them off, but often was overlooked).

Re: Radio Code Please Help
I had the same problem and went into a VW dealership and they did it for free. They don't need to take it out they just need your vin number and they look it up on the comp. Then all you need to do is imput it on the keypad.

I simply took out the radio and there is a number on the rear right side of the radio. I called my dealer and gave them that number and my vin and they called back within 5 minutes with my code. hope it all works out
