funky noise
Got a 95 lx - when I hit a bump at freeway speeds, there's a high-pitched metal ringing sound that starts up, sounds like its coming from the back of the car. It stops as soon as I tap the brakes.
Any ideas what it is? |

I have the just run into the same problem recently. I was backing down my friends driveway at night at slipped into the ditch. Something got tore up on my front drivers-side. It is exactly what you describe. It almost sounds like a chain dragging, but it stops when the brakes are applied. My friend thought it might be the brake line but we looked at it and saw no apparent damage. I have taken it to the shop to get their oppinion on it. Let me know what you find out. If I get it fixed I will try and let you know what the problem was.

Re: funky noise
might have something to do with a loose shoe, or it might be the begining stage of the brakes telling you the pads are running low. Just throwing stuff out there.

Re: funky noise
Hatrick, you were right on the second part. The shop said the brake pads were worn down. The replaced them and the problem was fixed. I didn't expect it to be just something like that since it started when the side that was making the noise slipped into a drain ditch.
