Exclamation New competition!

New competition for the Mclaren f1 on topspeed and accel. The new car realested @ washington d.c. 2004 SSC AERO SC/8T

Price is a 1/4 of mclarens which is $239 000 USD
782 bhp @ 6600 rpm
635 ft lbs @ 5800 rpm

These are actual test runs for the car ~ top speed 400.7 kph / 249.0 mph
0-60 3.1 secs! And an astounding 126.39 bhp per litre.

Shelby Super Cars, it is easy to confuse the name with Shelby Automobiles started by the legendary Carol Shelby. SSC is trying hard to trying hard to distinguish itself and it has done so with their latest product, the Aero SC/8T.

Ummmm..... no.

That thing almost looks worse than the Hispano Suiza HS21 GTS. Couldn't they have found another car besides the Focus to borrow their headlights from?

And I refuse to believe they've done any real-world performance testing to verify those claims.

Thumbs down Not Slick

Maybe that's the way the thing is supposed to look out of the wind tunnel, but it just doesn't look clean or purposeful. Sure a lot of cars can turn in fantastic numbers in one area, but what is it like overall. No race history or legend. Wait and see if it has legs to match the Might Mc.
It gets a thumbs down here.

Re: New competition!

This is kind of old news. Theres a video out there of it running a very fast quarter mile. I really think they used components from a lot of other cars, it looks like the 13 or so years old diablo. It may beat the mclaren in the numbers, but guaranteed the F1 is a much better drivers car. I'll bet the Koenigsegg CCR beats this thing.
