Front end noises won't go away!

Hello everyone!

This is a little long but please read, I'm desperate!

I've had just a terrible time with this car, I've stuck $3,000 in and have yet to be rid of the clunk that started everything. Everything replaced did need replacing, I didn't do the work myself, but my mechanic lets me watch as he works . I have a clunk in the Passenger Front that also causes a wobbling noise and you can feel the wobbling through the floorboards a bit, but only on that side. Also, when I turn the wheel at corner turns (stopped at stop sign, make right or left turn.) it will make a brief clunk noise coming more from the center. It also will do this occasionally when just coming to a stop with the wheels straight, as well as putting it into reverse. Seems to get worse when it's warm. Here's what we've done so far:

2x Balljoints
2x Halfshafts w/ Seals
4x Struts
4x Strut Mounts
4x Sway Bar Link Pins
2x Hub Assemblies in the Rear (different problem)
1x Rack and Pinion complete Steering w/ 2 New Inner Tie Rods
2x Outer Tie Rods

What my mechanic did notice, and didn't know if this was just characteristic of a Taurus, is the Halfshafts have a little play at the Transmission, not the knuckle but more inside the transmission. Also if it helps, the seal at the torque converter is leaking (not sure if that helps, but better to have too much info than not enough.)

The tires seemed to be cupping, so we rotated front to back, so it doesn't seem to be a tire, but not ruling it out.

Any ideas??????? Please???? This is driving me up a wall, and I'm wondering if the supposed safe family car is really safe at all?

Re: Front end noises won't go away!

Have your mech tighten the lower subframe mounting bolts, and the engine mount nuts that are in the subframe. I have had a few Taurus' with a clunk on accel that this was the problem. The rubber bushing get loose as they wear. You should have your mech use something called "chassis ears" to identify the exact location of the noise. They are clamps that are placed on the suspected components and they are wired to an amplifier box. I use them in my shop for hard to diag noises. If you mech hasn't checked your engine mounts for wear he should. As the engine moves these will give strange noises if they are worn. As for your wobble, Not too sure. If your torque convertor is leaking you should have it repaired, but that shouldn't give a clunk noise. If it did you would hear it on the drivers side not the passenger.
