2000 Windstar LX Grill - other models?

I've got a 2000 silver Windstar LX with some cosmetic damage to the grill. The LX has a body-color grill, and I know the upscale models (SE, SEL, Limited) have a chrome grill instead. I've thought about trying to go with a chrome grill rather than body-color grill as a replacement. Will this work? Will a grill for an SE/SEL/Limited fit on an LX? How difficult is it to replace the grill? Any special tools involved?

No, the LX and base model grills are molded into the bumper. The SE, SEL and Limited grills are separate from the bumper.
