Re: $50,000 for a new car...
Yes, according to the April issue of NZ autocar, the Legacy 2.5 (This is the brand new model, launched late last year) pulls 1.01g's. Which was ahead of the next best cars- the Nissan 350Z (0.98) and BMW Z4 3.0 (0.97) as well as the Turbocharged Legacy GT (0.97) AND the International-market Subaru Impreza WRX STi 2.0 (0.96). Last I heard, the Z06 pulled 0.99g

I definitly agree with the statement that handling is subjective. I am incredibly suprised to see #s like that for the new legacy, so as you can see, numbers arent everything.

If I had $50K to spend, I'd be shopping for a Jag S-Type R with the 4.2L V8 with supercharger - beautiful, elegant, and quick as hell.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....ber=6&preview= With this data in hand, what do you think a Z06 would do on Autocar's skidpad? 1.06G? Not all skidpads are created equal and when the differences are this great between tests you have to look at extraneous factors. |
