The Plexi Glass that I have there is to stop heat from the engine to get to the filter.......my intake runs 5 degrees above ambient temps

Re: Air Filter

What matters is how the car performs when the owners requires it. THere are few articles explaining the problems of using long tubing to route intake air but depending on where you live is what you can use. In a place that is dry and warm the fenderwell could be an option, but in a rainy location is another story.
Are there any sites with facts explaining the benefits of the 2' tubing compared to a CAI?

Re: Air Filter

Here in PR on the rain season would be normal to have water from time to time up to half the door. My filter being inside the Thrasher CAI has goten splashes.

Re: Air Filter

I'd be worried about the exhaust too....water halfway up the door would surely cover your exhaust.....
