Y2k ZX2, no spark
My daughter's ZX2 doesn't have any spark. I followed the schematic and the ignition coil pack has +12v but I can't find the powertrain control module which seems to be the switch. Anyone know where it is or am I headed in the right direction? Thanks!

Re: Y2k ZX2, no spark
its under the lil cuby hole in the dash, you have to take out the center consol(between teh 2 seats) to get to it. If you pull out the cupholders you can see all teh wires leading to it

Thanks, now I'll see if there is anything I can check on it. It seems like the two wires for both coils should be grounded by this board to get spark.

Re: Y2k ZX2, no spark
I got the module out and it is a sealed box?! Does anybody have any idea of how to check these things? The book has no help at all. Thanks

Re: Y2k ZX2, no spark
yes it is a lil silver box, you best bet is to take it to ford and see if they can test it, if you wanna replace it you can find them on e-bay cheap. If it is a manual and you wanna go fo rthe ubgrade fro teh heck of it look for a CWQ3, XHG3, or NGP0 code on e-bay. but they will only work on a 5-speed.
like i said though your best bet it take it to ford and have it tested, or rip one out of a junkyard |
