I'd like to avoid welding but I could if I had to. Also, are there any modifications needed to put a 454 in a 75-79 year model?

ME: If you email me at [email protected] , ill send you a Checklist of 75 things to look at when buying a used C3 in addition to a good book to get on the same subject. The very major things to look for are : Rusted framerails especially in front of the rear wheels , rusted windshield header and side pillars, seeing if its been in an accident by feeling under each wheel well for fiberglass repairs, and making sure its a matching numbers engine and drivetrain.
Its possible to get a 454 BB into a mid 70's...and easier to get a Bill Mitchell 454 'SB' crate engine in. In my state, to get around the emissions testing., you simply apply for Antique Vehicle License Plates., then they wont require it be tested.
