Sales tax, government tax, blah blah blah..

Hi. I found this site very informative and thought that you kind people would help me out with a few of my inquiries.
I just started working at my new job, but am very desperate to get a car. This is my first car and i was wondering how much should I save. I currently am willing to spend up to 1900 for a Ford Taurus or any other make I just wanted to know should I save more than that due to all of this tax business and fees... And also how much is the price range for that tax stuff and government fees. I just don't want to save up 1900 and get to a dealership and have them tell me, I have insufficient funds.

Maybe, I'm all crazy and confused, but can somebody please help inform little clueless me?

Thanks You!

Re: Sales tax, government tax, blah blah blah..

It is the vehicle price + sales tax + DMV fees.
In CA the sales tax is 8.25%, so with the addtion of DMV fees, the final cost would be 10% more than the price of the vehicle
