Question Do you have KYB AGXs?

Well? Do ya?

With my latest civic, the suspension is next. I have the plan for all, and I'm thinkin about KYB AGX shocks. I was gonna go with Tokico, but the shop guys, as well as some other folks around town that I've talked to, say that the KYBs are just as good, last as long, and are a lot cheaper (the less expensive part I obvioulsy know to be a fact).

So, who has them out there in Honda performance land? How long have you had them? Any leaks? Bushings going sour? Sag? Do they work well with just lowering springs? (I don't wanna get coilovers - not up for discussion) How well do they get along with upper and lower rear braces?

The car is a daily driver for a few years, and a full suspension will get done before the end of summer. I live in MD, and Im from northern Ohio, so winter isn't an issue, and the roads here are pretty sweet in my experience, so the lowered part isn't much and issue, and getting the hoppies won't be too bad unless KYB AGXs and an Eibach Pro-Kit make it TOO stiff.

lil help, info/advice/ and experience always appreciated. yes I know I could likely find this debate in the search function, but what I really wanna know is how well these dampeners have served you over the years (high miles). Thanks.

Yes and good to all of your questions. I have a set and they (KYB) work fine with lowered rides. Get good springs though. Dont get the cheap ones.

I agree. I've had mine for about a year and they are just as good as when I got them. It's finally warm again here so I put mine back on level 3

Re: Re: Do you have KYB AGXs?

I have AGX's & Eibach Pro-kit on my Civic. Everything is just fine, #1 is nice and soft. Normally 2F/3R

Lowering more than 2" on AGX's is when you start running into premature wear.

Strut bars/tie bars will fit just fine

Rear sway bar upgrade will do more than any upper/lower bar on a FWD car.

Re: Do you have KYB AGXs?

I have AGXs & H&R springs on my 90 CRX and they are ok. No problems yet. I have them set to level 1F & 1R. Have to try different settings but this seems ok so far.

KYB's it is then. Now, I'm thinkin Nuespeed for the upper and lower rear bars, although, I must say, over the past year or two, I've grown some discontent in paying out the monster wad for a name brand that works just as well as a generic. For instance, why pay $90+ for a front upper strut brace from AEM or someone, when you can get a bubba racing (ficticious name...duh) for $30 from autozone that does the same damn thing. Anything out there for cheap that in your experience does the trick? If not, Im gonna go with Nuespeed.

Sorry to be such an info mooch, but Im a teacher with WAY too many activities and barely have the time to check this and my e-mail let alone surf the web for stuff.

Thanks for all the help, you AF folks rock as always.

Re: Do you have KYB AGXs?

I'd recommend NEUSPEED before any cheap junk. There is a differece, cheap bars are for looks, name brand quality bars are for function. If it were my car I'd do a rear lower & rear sway bar.
