my 97 grand prix

my 97 gt coupe slipped the belt yesterday while i was driving. when i looked under the hood there was a lost of oil around the pulleys and on the bottom of the undercarriage. i checked my powersteering fluid and it's ok. could it possible be my air conditioning pulley. i need to know where the oil came from. can you help?

What color is it.

Is it green grease?

Maybe the coolant elbow by the water pump is leaking.

the leaking liquid has a red tint to it. it's also really runny, looks almost like water. now when i start the car, the liquid is running out from the bottom. looks like it is comming from the bottom the the a/c???? if all of this fluid leaks out will that pulley possible lock up??? please help

Since this thread is about a month old....you may have it fixed....but it sounds as if the water pump is leaking from the bottom,since it has whats called a weep hole once the bushing goes bad.......~Larry~

He said it was coming from the passanger side of the motor and the tranny lines would come from the drivers side....thats what ran thru my mind also..then I read

Since we do have problems with water pumps on our cars it was a thought

well thats true, and with the dex-cool (orange) coolant that the GP's use, maybe thats where the "red tint" came from
