87 gt 2.8 replaced intake gaskets upper and lower, dist, o ring and all that garbage. put it in time 10deg tdc (automatic) shorted a and b terminals on obd. and.....runs great high idle 2k....I have a glowing RH exhaust manifold.... glowing like compition orange on a camaro?????
any ideas?? (by the way i have no cat and hollow muffler)

Timing chain jumped? I'm thinking that's what might be causing mine to do that (in my case, timing gears, but all the same...) Quite possible exhaust valves are hanging open causing some combustion in the manifold. On the other hand, could be a intake vacuum leak with that high idle... mine holds 800rpm perfectly.
