I am an owner of a 1996 Audi 1.9 TDI A4 110bhp. I have been reading a lot about chipping and remapping. This can take the power up to 140 BHP. They also say that the fuel economy will also improve (at the moment I get an average of 44-45MPG) which is one of the main reasons why I want to do this.
My first question is what is the difference between chipping and remaping? I just get confussed when I speak to the sales guys
I have been quoted £550 to do this (and this does not include a rolling road set up - this cost an extra £50). The thing is I have seen chips for £100 on the inte rnet, so at this price am I being ripped off?
Has anyone else done this to their Audi? if so did you get an improvement on fuel consumption, was it worth it, if so where did you get it done?
Anyone help a confusssed man?
