How to test digifant to see if the FI is working?
Since I have spark, but don't have fuel, how do I check to see if the fuel injection is running?
I'm going to squirt gas in the manifold and see if it runs from there. I tested the plug at the fuel rail and it's giving me .63 volts while the key is in run or when cranking. I squirted the fuel in the manifold and it duid run. I'm really starting to suspect the ECU, but I don't know how to test it out to be positive. Last edited by sknight; 05-16-2004 at 10:10 AM. |

Re: How to test digifant to see if the FI is working?
Does the fuel pump run when you turn the key to run position? If it does then you should get a fuel pressure reading before going after the electronic stuff. Put a simple fuel gauge onto the test port at the end of the fuel rail (end above transmission). Remove the 7mm plug in the end of it and slip the hose over it. Pressure should be 35-40 psi when pump runs (you may have to jumper the fuel pump relay to keep the pump running long enough to get a good reading). Pressure should not drop below 25 psi for at least 10 minutes after you turn off the pump.

The pumps do not run at all.
