Has anyone had this problem? I can hear a knocking sound at the front right tire/wheel area. I did a brief check and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what exactly does it sound like? Is it more like a squeek, or click, etc?

check your U-joint on the hub. You will have to look at it from under the vehicle. There is a axle shaft that comes out of the axletube which has a u-joint (universal joint shaped like a +) on it that ties to the hub. Most likely it is worn out and flopping around in there. If you grab the shaft and can move it rather freely thats your problem (you might be able to visually see where the seals are missing and it is actually worn the steel (which is usually round into an oval).
Another area that causes more of a knock from the front end usuallywhen going up/down curbs is worn u-joints in the front driveshaft. Good Luck, |
