1992 Civic...Front CV Joints clicking...
The joints have been clicking on turns mostly right .... but some when turning left as well...have been babying the starts around corners...
This has about 200,000 miles and I am looking to replace the front joints...and want to know where to find parts and to keep the cost down...please...I have a good mechanic that works for about $25. hr. |

Re: 1992 Civic...Front CV Joints clicking...
best place to get CV joints are from the junkyard IMO. When you get them, just inspect the boots. Even the tiniest rip in the boot and it will eventually completely rip in a few months. I know that from first hand experience. You could get remanufactured ones from Pep Boys too, but they are a little more expensive.

get remanufactured ones from autozone or some place similar. (the whole shafts, not just the joints) the ones i got from autozone have a lifetime warrenty, which is good because honda cv joints go bad all the time

Re: 1992 Civic...Front CV Joints clicking...
I meant the entire axle whoops. But yah, I haven't had a problem buying used axles from the yard yet, and I've replaced axles on my old civic and a friend's integra. Only problem was when I bought that one with the little tear in the boot and didn't think anything of it.
