New engine finally in

Well my friend finally installed my D16Y7 engine with 36,000 miles to replace my busted D15B7 with 106,000. It was a pain for him because the engine had already a manual tranny bolted onto it which he was going to give me. He had to take it off to put my auto tranny onto the new engine which took forever since the damn thing is so heavy. He used alot of my old parts also. First we had a little problem because the trottle body (intake) was facing up instead of to the left and I didnt have an intake. Then he calls me up and says "dont buy an intake" He noticed that the ports off of my D15B7 throttle body were bigger, so he decided to use the old throttle body. The exhaust manifold, also had to use the same old one. Damn, the newer one had a cat RIGHT on it with 2 o2 sensors (but I couldnt use it since thats for OBD2) Damn! that thing also has dinky ports. It is thin! He also Used my old starter since the starter is mounted to the tranny and mine was automatic.

One thing that bothered me is that he had to use te old injectors which in my mind I thought might be clogged due to my old shitty gas milage. I think it might be the old throttle body also. We'll see. I dont know my gas milage yet. I have the 4 new injectors but I have a problem. The electrical plugs wont fit on them. I was wondering if I could take the new injector electrical plugs off of the unused new throttle body, cut the wires and and connect them to my throttle body now. Ohh... and I'm using my old ecu lol. but all of these parts that I DIDNT put on, I have. if anyone wants something, let me know. The manual tranny I have I could sell here. The clutch looks brand new. I also have the flywheel for it but DAMN! THAT THING IS HEAVY!!!!! I'm also using my old power steering pump (have the new one unused) and used my old air compressor (new one unused) I also have the engine harness (unused) I also have the newer alternator unused. Mine had a round plug and the newer one uses a square-ish plug so I didnt want to cut any wires so I just used my old one. I've got more parts too.

Thanks all!

yea the Y8 has vtec..... Damn... I tried the injectors and had to break lil spacers to get the connectors to slide in instead of cutting the wires. The car had ALOT more torque and then started sputtering... it has its BURSTS of torque when I accelerate it then it sputters. When I turn it on, its fine for 10 seconds.... then it starts to idle at like 200 RPM and surge.... BARELY staying alive and the engine vibrating to hell since its such low rpms. When I was driving, the check engine light came on.. I dont know what its trying to tell me... there is not really a code.. it only blinks really fast once ...over and over... every 8 seconds...

Re: New engine finally in

lol...is that the reason why you IMed me at 8 in the morning FUCKER!!! j/k If the car is sputtering, it could be your new injectors not giving enough fuel. I'm not completely in the know about injectors, still learning about them, but different injectors have different ohm ratings I believe. So you may need a resistor or something for them to work properly. I'll see if I can get some answers for you.
