10+k for a 97SL with 88k Miles??
Hi ppl,
Read the threads and decided to join. I don't have a 3000GT yet but I am a big fan. Now that I have saved enough to get a second car, I've started looking for one. And it has got to be a 3000GT, coz' they don't make sports cars like that anymore. Saw a white 97 SL with 88K miles on it for 10,500. And want an opinion. Is it worth it? Or is the dealer asking for too much? It is in good condition. I know it's bad manners to be asking a favour in my first post, but really need to know. I'm new to the states and don't know much about how much cars should cost. It's below KBB though. Thanks a lot in advance, Appreciate it. Vivek. |

Yeah, I agree....that sounds a bit high. After tax and everything, you'll be looking at $11+ I'd say shop around a bit longer or ask him to lower the price. Also, try www.autotrader.com and the auto section at yahoo. Good luck!

Well my 94 was about $3000 less than that, for 10 grand you might as well buy an older VR4 with low mileage, in my opinion, but for the best pricing guide check ebay, autotrader, and cars.com. That should give you the general idea of how much that car would go for normally.

Re: 10+k for a 97SL with 88k Miles??
www.kbb.com put the retail(dealer sale) value of a 97 sl with 88k miles at $13800. so based on that 10,500 is a good price.

Basically, you can find a 97 SL for a grand or two less than 10,500, but for a dealer and w/ a warranty thats right on.
